Minecraft [Orient's Hotpot Chronicles] Mod — Player Guide
Tip
This guide covers the released 0.1.2-alpha, demonstrated with Minecraft 1.21.1 Fabric (gameplay is the same on 1.21.1 NeoForge and 1.20.1 Fabric / Forge; see Downloads, Installation & Feedback). Content marked Coming in 0.1.3 has not been released yet. Wherever its behavior differs from 0.1.2-alpha, both versions are explained.
Welcome to Orient's Hotpot Chronicles, a Fabric mod that brings sharing a hotpot meal into Minecraft. Build a stove, set a copper or iron pot on top, pour in broth, add tripe and fatty beef rolls, then pick up a bite with chopsticks, dip it in your own sauce, and enjoy.
This guide has two parts: learning to play and looking things up.

Copper and iron pots on lit stoves, with boiling broth
What's in the mod?
Stoves and hotpots: short and tall stoves; copper and iron nine-grid pots (Yuanyang and four-grid pots are coming in 0.1.3); four broths; cooking with wood, coal, or a campfire.
Tables and seating: low and tall hotpot tables, stools, and benches in 11 wood types. Tables connect automatically, and you can sit on the seating.
Tableware: five materials (quartz, bamboo, terracotta, copper, and iron) in six plate sizes. Vanilla bowls can hold food or soup on the table. There are also two drinks and bamboo chopsticks.
Ingredients: tripe, fatty beef rolls, mutton rolls, potato slices, tofu cubes, meatballs, and more. Prepare them yourself with a cutting board, kitchen knife, and rolling pin.
Dipping sauces: a sauce station with nine seasonings. Mix your own sauce and give dipped food extra effects.
Eat together: a heated pot keeps healing nearby players. Gathering around a hotpot really does have its benefits.
Tip
The recipe diagrams are generated directly from the game's recipe files. The small tags beside headings show which version introduced a feature.
Supported versions and downloads
The mod supports Minecraft 1.21.1 (Fabric, NeoForge) and 1.20.1 (Fabric, Forge). This guide demonstrates 1.21.1 Fabric. Download links (CurseForge, Modrinth, GitHub), installation steps, and feedback channels (GitHub and QQ) are on Downloads, Installation & Feedback.
Note
The mod is still in alpha and has only had preliminary testing. When upgrading worlds from 0.1.0-alpha.1, modded items may disappear or change. Back up your world first; a new world is recommended.
The mod supports two Minecraft versions and four loader combinations, all currently on 0.1.2-alpha:

Tip
This guide demonstrates 1.21.1 Fabric. Gameplay, recipes, and values are the same on the other three builds, so you can follow the same screens and controls. A few small differences are listed under How the ports differ.
The same 1.20.1 Forge jar has also had preliminary server checks on NeoForge 1.20.1 (47.1.106). Client and multiplayer behavior there have not been verified.
An older 0.1.1-alpha build exists for 1.20.4 Fabric. It is no longer updated and is outside this guide's scope.
Install the same jar on both the client and server for your chosen version.
Check both the Minecraft version and the loader before downloading. They appear in the filename, for example orients_hotpot_chronicles-1.21.1-fabric-0.1.2-alpha.jar. Choosing the wrong version or loader will stop the game from launching.
Installation
Fabric (1.21.1 / 1.20.1)
Use Fabric Loader to create a game profile for the matching Minecraft version.
Download Fabric API for that same Minecraft version.
Put both Fabric API and this mod's jar in .minecraft/mods, then launch the game.
Put this mod's NeoForge jar in mods and launch. Fabric API is not required.
Forge (1.20.1)
Install Forge for 1.20.1 (47.1+; tested with 47.4.28).
Put this mod's Forge jar in mods and launch. Fabric API is not required.
In Creative mode, look for the Orient's Hotpot Chronicles tab. The smaller tabs on the left sort items into kitchenware, tableware, tables, seating, and food.
Note
The mod is still in alpha and has only had preliminary testing. Compatibility with other mods, multiplayer, and unusual interactions may have bugs.
Worlds from 0.1.0-alpha.1 may lose modded items or show changed appearances after upgrading. Back up your world first; a new world is recommended.
How the ports differ
The 1.20.1 Fabric / Forge and 1.21.1 NeoForge builds are ports of 1.21.1 Fabric. Gameplay, recipes, values, and textures are the same. The visible differences are small:
Feature
1.21.1 Fabric
1.20.1
Steam above the pot
White smoke particles
Cloud particles (also white and rising, slightly larger)
Returning bowls after foods such as mushroom stew
Reads the food's own properties
Follows vanilla bowl-return rules
Keep in mind: new content usually arrives on Fabric 1.21.1 first, with ports following later. Release pages and the version tags in this guide explain what is available.

Your First Hotpot in Ten Minutes
Follow these six steps from scratch to your first bite of hotpot. Each step includes its recipe.
Step 1: Craft a stove
Brick Stove
Crafting
Place the stove on the ground. Right-click its brick body with an empty hand to open the firebox screen.
Put fuel in the fuel slot. Anything a vanilla furnace burns works: planks, logs, charcoal, coal, lava buckets, and more. Stronger heat cooks faster (see Stoves & Hotpots).
Step 2: Craft a pot and set it on the stove
Iron Nine-Grid Hotpot
Crafting
Iron and copper pots work the same; only their appearance differs. Hold the pot and right-click the stove to place it. Its two handles automatically sit to your left and right.
Tip
Want one spicy half and one mild half? Yuanyang and four-grid pots are coming in 0.1.3. See Stoves & Hotpots.
Step 3: Add broth
Hold a filled bucket and right-click the pot to pour it in. Different containers make different broths:
Right-click the pot with
Resulting broth
Water Bucket
Clear Broth: standard speed, suitable for any ingredient
Milk Bucket
Rich Stock: slowest (×0.85), milky white
Mushroom Stew
Mushroom Broth: a little faster (×1.15)
Lava Bucket
Spicy Red Broth: fastest (×1.3), bright red
Once broth is added, a pot on the stove gives off steam. An empty pot will not light the stove.
Step 4: Add ingredients
With broth in the pot, hold a raw ingredient and right-click to add it. The pot has nine large cells in a 3×3 grid. Your crosshair determines which cell receives the food.
Start simply: vanilla raw beef, porkchops, mutton, and fish all work. For a more typical hotpot, try Raw Tripe (dropped by cows) or Fatty Beef Roll (cut with a kitchen knife). See Ingredients & Food Preparation.
Note
Put food in the pot. In 0.1.2-alpha, wood and iron items can also go in and get “cooked” into charcoal or iron nuggets. Avoid doing this; from 0.1.3 onward, pots only accept food.
Step 5: Craft chopsticks
Bamboo Chopsticks
Crafting
Hold chopsticks and right-click the pot to open the hotpot screen. You can see every ingredient, and its appearance changes when cooked.
Step 6: Eat!
In the hotpot screen: with chopsticks on your cursor, left-click cooked food to eat it in one bite, complete with chewing and a burp.
Without opening the screen: right-click with an empty hand or a bowl to collect cooked food from the cell you are aiming at.
Watch out for cold pots: food will not cook without heat. Eating from an unheated pot has a 30% chance of giving you Nausea for 15 seconds.
A heated pot keeps granting Regeneration I to players within six blocks, so invite your friends to share the meal.
Hotpot has three essentials: a stove for heat, a pot for broth and ingredients, and a broth base that affects cooking speed. Here is how they all work.
Stoves
Brick StoveTall Brick Stove
Short and tall stoves
Brick Stove: the short version. Its brick surface is level with a low hotpot table.
Brick Stove
Crafting
Tall Brick Stove: raises the firebox and pot by 10 pixels, to match a tall hotpot table. Its brick surface sits two pixels below the tabletop, while the pot rim extends three pixels above it for easy access.
Tall Brick Stove
Crafting (shapeless; any arrangement)
A tall stove also occupies the block above it with an invisible block. Leave that space empty when placing one.
Pots on short and tall stoves, with lit fires and boiling broth
Fuel and heat
Right-click the stove's brick body (or the stove itself when no pot is attached) to open the firebox screen and add fuel. Any vanilla furnace fuel works, with the same burn time as a furnace. There are three heat levels:
Fuel is consumed only while raw ingredients need cooking.
If the pot has broth and the firebox has fuel but there is no raw food, the fire stays lit and the broth keeps boiling without consuming fuel. Take your time setting the table; you will not waste coal. A pot without broth will not light the stove.
The firebox screen has no temperature bar or remaining-time counter. The size of the flame shows how strongly it is burning.

Description
Iron Nine-Grid Hotpot / Copper Nine-Grid Hotpot
Nine-grid pot: one broth across nine large cells. Copper and iron differ only in appearance.
A pot is a separate block. It can sit on a stove, on the ground, or on a lit campfire (see below).
Capacity
A nine-grid pot has nine large cells, each containing a 3×3 set of smaller slots: up to 81 portions per pot. Ingredients go into the large cell under your crosshair. If that cell is full, you cannot add more there.

Add broth: hold the bucket or mushroom stew and right-click the pot. A regular pot holds only one broth at a time; divided pots are different.
Remove broth:right-click with an empty bucket to recover its original contents (water returns as a water bucket). Mushroom broth requires a bowl and no food remaining in the pot; take all food out first.
Serve soup to drink: right-click with a bowl. Cooked food is collected first; if there is none, you get soup. See Tableware & Drinks.
How food cooks
Raw ingredients turn into cooked food using their smoker / campfire recipes. Anything that can be cooked in a smoker can be cooked in the pot. Cooking time is:
Time per portion = smoker cooking time ÷ (fuel heat × broth multiplier)
For example, raw beef takes five seconds in a smoker. Coal + Clear Broth also takes five seconds; Spicy Red Broth (×1.3) takes about 3.8 seconds, while wood (×0.65) takes about 7.7 seconds. Small ingredients such as fatty beef rolls, potato slices, and meatballs take half as long as a whole cut of meat, making them quick to cook.
See the cooking section of the Recipe Collection for each ingredient's cooking times.
Note
Only put food in the pot. In 0.1.2-alpha, wood, ores, and iron items can also be added and “cooked” into charcoal or iron nuggets using furnace recipes. Avoid doing this. From 0.1.3 onward, pots only accept food: edible items or items with smoker / campfire recipes. Cooked food cannot be added again.

Hold chopsticks and right-click the pot to open it:
Every portion is visible, with different appearances for raw and cooked food.
With chopsticks on your cursor, left-click cooked food to eat it, restoring hunger and saturation just like vanilla food.
Double-click to collect matching cooked food onto your cursor, like double-clicking in the vanilla inventory.
Hover over food to see its name. Dipped food also lists “Dipped: …”.
Hold dipping sauce in your off hand to automatically dip each bite eaten in this screen.
Cold pots
A pot is cold when it is not on a burning stove or lit campfire. The broth is still and ingredients float in it. Eating from a cold pot with chopsticks has a 30% chance of causing Nausea for 15 seconds. A Plant Protein Drink clears Nausea.
Cooking on a campfireSince 0.1.1-alpha
You can cook without a stove by placing the pot on a lit campfire or soul campfire:
In 0.1.2-alpha, the pot sits directly on the campfire. From 0.1.3, four slender iron supports rest on the campfire logs, so the pot no longer appears to float and flames no longer pass through it.
Heat equals coal, no fuel is consumed, and nearby players are healed too.
Extinguishing or breaking the campfire makes the pot cold.
In 0.1.2-alpha, you must mine this pot to pick it up. From 0.1.3, Shift + right-click with an empty hand packs it with broth and food, just like a stove-mounted pot.
Benefits of eating together
A heated pot refreshes Regeneration I for 10 seconds every four seconds on players within six blocks, like a beacon's area effect. Staying beside a pot keeps restoring health, and sharing a table makes it even livelier.
Yuanyang and four-grid potsComing in 0.1.3
Coming in 0.1.3 (this guide covers 0.1.2-alpha; this content is not released yet)
These pots are coming in 0.1.3 and are not in 0.1.2-alpha. Gameplay and details, especially the screen, may still change before release.
Craft a divided pot from a nine-grid pot and matching copper / iron ingots: ingot to the left = S-shaped Yuanyang; below = O-shaped; above = straight divider; one on each side = four-grid pot. Each compartment holds its own broth. Aim at a compartment to add or remove its broth. Each food slot cooks with that compartment's broth; a compartment without broth will not cook. Like nine-grid pots, these work on the ground, campfires, short stoves, and tall stoves.

Spaces too close to a divider to fit a full slot are left empty, showing only broth and the pot bottom. Food floats at several positions in each compartment (S: four per side; O: six outside and two inside; straight: three per side; four-grid: two per compartment). Items sharing a position take turns appearing.
In the screen, double-clicking matching cooked food or collecting it with a bowl only combines food from the same broth. Compartments with matching broths can be collected together; otherwise, only the selected side is collected.

Mining and removal
Mine the pot: only the pot is removed. Broth and food are packed into its item and restored when placed again.
Mine the stove's brick body: the whole stove is removed, and the packed pot drops too.
The pot item's tooltip lists its broth, food portions, and how many are cooked.
To remove a pot without mining the stove, Shift + right-click the pot with an empty hand.
Tables & Seating
Hotpot is best shared around a table. There are two matching sets: a low set close to the ground, like a home hotpot table, and a tall set with 1.5-block-high tables, like a restaurant. Both come in 11 wood types:
Oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, dark oak, mangrove, cherry, bamboo, crimson, and warped. Tables use vanilla plank textures, and their recipes simply swap in the matching planks.

The tabletop is level with a short stove's brick surface, so a stove can fit seamlessly into a row of tables.
The underside resembles an upside-down stair, recessed four pixels on the outer side to leave knee room.
Automatic connections: any side next to another low or tall table, or a stove, fills in to create long tables.
Wooden tables are flammable and can be mined quickly with an axe.

1.5 blocks high, with an overhanging tabletop. The legs occupy pixels 0–19 and are recessed four pixels on the outside too.
The lower block is vanilla bricks, with wooden planks above it; this is why the recipe uses three brick blocks.
Pair them with a tall stove. When the stove opening faces a table, the table removes the bricks on that side and keeps the wooden part, leaving the firebox visible.
They also connect automatically to low tables and stoves.
Targeting accounts for their extra height, so plates and bowls on the tabletop can still be selected.
Decorating the table
Plates, bowls, drinks, and sauce bowls sit on the tabletop; see Tableware & Drinks.
Small decorations such as lanterns, flower pots, candles, and cakes sit flush with the tabletop instead of floating.
Other regular blocks follow vanilla placement: they float five pixels above low tables or sink seven pixels into tall tables. You can still use them as decorations.

Placement
Facing: seating and seated players face the direction you were looking when placing it.
Connecting: adjacent seats in a straight line connect automatically when they are the same height, even with different woods. Middle legs disappear and end legs move inward. Perpendicular seats do not connect. In 0.1.2-alpha, seats must face the same direction; placing from the opposite side leaves them offset. From 0.1.3, they connect along the same line regardless of which side you stand on.
Tall benches have angled A-frame legs, drawn by code because vanilla models cannot rotate at such small angles.
Sitting down
Right-click seating with an empty hand, or while holding something that is not a block.
Click the middle of a block to sit in the middle; click the join between two blocks to sit between them.
Leave at least one full block between players so they do not overlap.
Press Shift (sneak) to get up behind the seat.
Tip
Match the heights for a comfortable meal: bench + tall table + tall stove, or stool + low table + short stove.
Tableware & Drinks
Fill your hotpot table with plates of raw ingredients, bowls of soup, drinks to cool the spice, and chopsticks for picking up food.

Tip food into the pot: right-click the pot with a filled plate. Raw ingredients go in; cooked food stays on the plate.
Bowls and soup bowls
Vanilla bowls work too
Vanilla bowls (Bowl) gain new uses:
Place one on a table like a plate. It holds three portions and works as a small dish.
Right-click a pot with a bowl: it first collects cooked food (up to three portions). If there is none, it serves soup. Soup servings do not reduce the broth in the pot.
Right-click a pot with a bowl already holding food to tip the whole bowl into it.
Four soup bowls
Served soup becomes a modded soup bowl item. All restore four hunger points, with different effects:

Soup bowls return an empty vanilla bowl when consumed and can also be placed on tables.
Tip
To empty the pot and change its broth, scoop it out with an empty bucket, regardless of the broth type. Serving mushroom broth in a drinking bowl is a separate action.

Pick up food: right-click a plate to take its last-added portion. You can see it at the chopstick tips.
Add food to a pot: right-click while holding food with chopsticks to place it in the targeted large cell.
Eat: with edible food held, hold right-click while aiming into the air. Any dipping-sauce effects apply too.
Dip: use chopsticks holding food on a sauce bowl on the table; see Dipping Sauces.
Ingredients & Food Preparation
Ingredients make the meal. This chapter explains where to find them, how to prepare them, and how much hunger they restore when cooked.
All raw ingredients can be cooked in the pot, or in a furnace, smoker, or campfire. The tables below list hunger restored per cooked portion. Cooked food cannot go back into the pot.
Tripe
Raw TripeCooked Tripe
Source: cows and mooshrooms drop it using the same quantity rules as vanilla beef: 1–3 pieces, plus 0–1 per Looting level. Animals killed while burning drop cooked tripe.
Raw Tripe restores two hunger points; Cooked Tripe restores five.
Great for hotpot: about 2.5 seconds to cook, half the time of a whole piece of beef.
Cooked Tripe
Cooking (furnace / smoker / campfire; hotpots use smoker times)
Beef Loin: cows / mooshrooms have a 25% chance to drop an extra piece (+10% per Looting level). Burning animals drop Cooked Beef Loin. Raw loin restores three hunger points; cooking it whole produces Cooked Beef Loin, restoring eight, like vanilla steak.
Beef Loin Slices, the hotpot cut known as diaolong: cut a loin with a kitchen knife on a cutting board, or use a stonecutter, to get three slices. Each restores one hunger point raw or three cooked.
Loin slices cook fastest, taking half as long as fatty beef rolls and finishing in just a few seconds.
Cooked Beef Loin cannot be sliced.

Dipping Sauces
A good dipping sauce completes a hotpot meal. The mod uses a self-service sauce station: nine small bowls let you mix your own sauce. Each seasoning has its own effect, and all effects stack.
Oak Sauce StationIron Sauce StationDipping Sauce
Sauce stationsSince 0.1.2-alpha
Appearance: three ascending tiers, low at the front and high at the back, with three white porcelain bowls per tier: nine in total.
Height: 1.5 blocks tall, occupying two blocks, including an invisible block above. You can walk up the tiers.
Materials: 11 wood types plus iron, for 12 variants.
Facing: the front faces the player who placed it.
Recipes
Each recipe makes one station. Replace planks with iron ingots for iron, or use the corresponding planks for other woods.

Restocking the bowls
Right-click the station with an empty hand to open its restocking screen:
Nine slots correspond to the nine bowls on the station.
Each slot accepts one ingredient type. The ingredient placed in an empty slot determines its seasoning. Multiple slots can hold the same ingredient.
One ingredient = four servings of seasoning. A slot holds up to 16 ingredients, or 64 servings.
The ? in the top-right opens an ingredient reference, showing which ingredient makes which seasoning.
Stocked bowls visibly show their seasoning on the station.

“Cooling the spice” means clearing the Hunger effect from Spicy Red Broth. Every seasoning in your bowl contributes its effect when you eat dipped food.
Mixing a sauce
Hold a vanilla bowl (Bowl) and right-click a stocked seasoning bowl on the station. It takes one serving and becomes Dipping Sauce.
Want another seasoning? Hold that sauce bowl and right-click a different seasoning bowl to add it.
Rules:
- Each seasoning can be added only once per bowl.
- One sauce bowl lasts for nine dips.
- After using some dips, you can still add seasonings you have not added yet. The remaining dip count stays the same.
- An empty station bowl shows an “empty” message; restock it first.
The tooltip lists the seasonings and remaining dips.
Tip
Try sesame oil + vinegar + chopped scallions + chopped cilantro for Regeneration, relief from spice and Nausea, and a fresh onion flavor. Pair Spicy Red Broth with honey or vinegar to clear its spice effect.
Dipping food
There are three ways:
① Dip at the table
Place your sauce bowl on a table by right-clicking the tabletop, just like placing a plate.
Hold food with chopsticks and right-click the sauce bowl to dip it.
The food now carries the sauce's effects. Its tooltip lists “Dipped: …”.
② Automatic dipping at the pot
Hold sauce in your off hand and eat with chopsticks in the hotpot screen. Each bite is automatically dipped, without taking it out first.
③ Eat directly with chopsticks
Hold dipped food with chopsticks and hold right-click while aiming into the air to eat. Its effects still apply. However you eat it—in the screen, with chopsticks, or from the table—dipped food keeps its effects.
Each dip uses one serving. After nine dips, the sauce bowl becomes an empty bowl.
Frequently Asked Questions
Pots and stoves
Q: There is broth in the pot. Why won't the stove light?
Check three things: fuel in the firebox (right-click the brick body to look), a pot actually attached to the stove, and broth actually inside the pot. A pot without broth will not light the stove. A heated pot gives off steam and has boiling broth.
Q: The stove is lit, but the fuel is not decreasing.
That's normal. Fuel is used only while raw food needs cooking. Heating broth without raw food does not use fuel; see Stoves & Hotpots.
Q: I can't put something into the pot.
Put food in the pot; cooked food cannot go back in. From 0.1.3, wood, iron items, and ores are rejected entirely. The targeted large cell may also be full (nine small slots); try another cell.
Q: How do I change the broth?Right-click with an empty bucket to scoop the broth back out. Remove food first if any remains. Mushroom broth requires a bowl and an empty pot with no food.
Q: Why isn't the food cooking?
Is the pot cold, without a burning stove or lit campfire? Cold pots do not cook.
Check heat: wood ×0.65, coal ×1.0, lava bucket ×1.6. Rich Stock is the slowest broth and Spicy Red Broth is the fastest. Wood + Rich Stock is slow.
Ingredients have different cooking times: whole beef takes five seconds and fatty beef rolls take 2.5 seconds. Loin slices in 0.1.3 take a little over one second; see the cooking table in the Recipe Collection.
Q: I suddenly got Nausea while eating.
You ate from a cold pot, which has a 30% chance of causing Nausea for 15 seconds. A Plant Protein Drink, Clear Broth Bowl, or sauce containing vinegar clears it.
Q: The tall stove says there is not enough room.
It occupies the block above it too. Clear that space.
Q: How do I pick up a pot?
For a stove-mounted pot, Shift + right-click with an empty hand. The whole pot goes into your inventory with broth and food and is restored when placed. Standalone / campfire pots gain this action in 0.1.3. You can also mine it directly; the pot has its own mining hardness, separate from the stove.
Tables, seating, and tableware
Q: I can't sit down.
Right-click with an empty hand or a non-block item. Leave a full block between seated players; try moving one block along if someone is already beside you.
Q: I can't place another plate in this block.
Plates cannot overlap. One block fits up to five small dishes, two long plates, or one square plate. When mixing types, the occupied space matters.
Q: I can't select something on a tall table.
The mod accounts for this height, so plates should be selectable on the tabletop. If you still cannot select one, aim slightly to the side or try sneaking.
Q: How do I pick up the whole plate?
Right-click it with an empty hand to take the plate and its food. Mining also works and affects only the targeted plate.
Ingredients
Q: How do I get tripe?
Kill cows or mooshrooms.
Q: How do I get soybeans, scallions, and cilantro?Break short or tall grass without shears. Scallions and cilantro each have a 25% drop chance; soybeans have 15%.
Q: I can't put something on the cutting board.
Only ingredients that can be cut or pounded work: raw beef, mutton, Beef Loin (0.1.3), potatoes, tofu (the last two require a stonecutter in 0.1.2-alpha), and raw porkchops, cod, and salmon for meatballs. Cooked food does not work.
Q: Why do drinks have no crafting recipes?
For now, get them from the Creative inventory or with /give. Recipes may be added later.
Worlds and versions
Q: Stoves, plates, or seats disappeared from my old world.
Upgrading a 0.1.0-alpha.1 world can remove or change some items because item IDs were renamed. From 0.1.1-alpha, most old IDs can be recognized again, and old stools become benches. Always back up worlds before upgrading. A fresh world is recommended during alpha.
Q: Can this mod integrate with other mods?
An integration hook exists: blocks in the orients_hotpot_chronicles:heat_sources block tag can heat pots. Suggest other integrations on GitHub.
Q: How do 1.20.1 and NeoForge differ from 1.21.1 Fabric?
Gameplay is the same, with small differences such as steam particles and returning bowls. New content usually reaches Fabric 1.21.1 first, with other builds following later. See Downloads, Installation & Feedback.
All item IDs are listed in the Item Catalog. Use the format orients_hotpot_chronicles:<ID>.
Recipe Collection
These diagrams are generated directly from the game's recipe files to match the game. Hover over a slot to see its item name.
Wood and material variants
Hotpot tables, tall tables, stools, benches, and sauce stations share recipes across all 11 woods; just use matching planks. Only oak examples are shown. Small dishes are listed for all five materials (quartz, bamboo, terracotta, copper, iron). Larger plates show quartz examples; substitute matching dishes for other materials.

This page is updated with each release, newest first. The “0.1.3 Preview” section lists completed work that has not been released. Gameplay in this guide is based on the released 0.1.2-alpha.
Tip
Maintenance note (players can skip this): each game change gets a numbered entry under “Unreleased” in docs/移植同步清单.md. The <!--清单#N--> markers here refer to those entries, and python tools/build_tutorial.py checks for omissions. At release time, rename the whole preview section to the release version and start a new preview section.
0.1.3 Preview Coming in 0.1.3
Completed work following 0.1.2-alpha, coming in 0.1.3. It is not released yet, and details may still change.
New content
Beef Loin and Beef Loin Slices: cows and mooshrooms have a 25% chance to drop loin. Cooked loin restores eight hunger points. Slice it into three on a board or in a stonecutter; these are the fastest-cooking hotpot slices. (Ingredients & Food Preparation)
Yuanyang and four-grid pots: S-shaped, O-shaped, and straight-divider Yuanyang pots, plus a four-compartment pot, in copper and iron. Craft using an ingot and a nine-grid pot. Each compartment has its own broth; aim at a compartment to add or remove broth, and its food cooks in that broth. (Stoves & Hotpots)
Changes
Milky broth renamed to Rich Stock, including translated names. This is the broth made with a milk bucket.
Packed Yuanyang / four-grid pots: item icons show each compartment's broth, and tooltips list broths by compartment.
Pots accept only food. Wood and iron items previously cooked into charcoal and iron nuggets; now only food can be added.
Sauce stations lowered by one trapdoor's height, making all three tiers easier to reach.
Cutting boards have a facing direction, with food facing the player placing it.
Mining food on a board removes only the food. The board remains; food and board directions are stored separately.
Cutting boards are visible in hand, and inventory icons are no longer dark.
Rolling Pins have a new design with handles.
Campfire pots have iron supports at their four corners, so they no longer appear to float and flames no longer pass through them.
Food in cold pots no longer flickers; it slowly bobs up and down on a roughly six-second cycle.
Benches connect even when facing opposite ways, as long as they are along the same line.
Sauce station selection outlines surround only the bowl under the crosshair.
Standalone / campfire pots can be picked up whole with an empty hand and Shift + right-click.
Fixes
Organized recipe-book groups for stools, benches, and plates to match current item names; removed unused old files.
Aligned internal drink names with item names. No visible change, but drinks placed in old test worlds may disappear.
Aligned internal names for Rich Stock, seating, plate models, and other assets; removed compatibility for old world IDs. Renamed items in old test worlds may disappear.
The cutting board can process potatoes and tofu again; they could not be placed in 0.1.2-alpha.
Food no longer leaves a ghost image after a cutting board is emptied.
Eating with chopsticks creates food-colored crumbs instead of purple-and-black missing-texture particles.
Breaking a Plant Protein Drink creates particles in its own colors rather than those of Orange Drink.
Added the square “回” motif to the upper half of the Orange Drink bottle.
The top of the Plant Protein Drink bottle cap no longer flickers.
0.1.2-alphaSince 0.1.2-alpha
Released on 2026-10-23. GitHub release pages group Fabric and Forge / NeoForge builds together.
New content
Sauce stations in 11 woods and iron: three tiers with nine bowls, 1.5 blocks tall. Right-click to restock; each bowl's seasoning depends on its ingredient.
Nine seasonings: MSG, chili oil, sweet-and-sour sauce, honey, sesame oil, vinegar, sugar, chopped scallions, and chopped cilantro. Their effects stack. Use a bowl on the station to mix sauce; one bowl lasts nine dips.
Automatic dipping: hold sauce in the off hand when eating in the hotpot screen or with chopsticks to dip automatically.
Scallions, cilantro, and soybeans drop from grass.
Cutting Board, Iron Kitchen Knife, and Rolling Pin.
Cutting: raw beef / mutton become fatty beef / mutton rolls; potatoes become slices; tofu becomes cubes. A stonecutter works too.
Pounding meatballs: use a rolling pin three times on a cutting board to make beef, pork, mutton, or fish balls, with cilantro variants too. Meatballs are small 3D spheres.
Craft tofu with soybeans and a water bucket.
Changes
Smaller stove openings, short-stove brick textures aligned with vanilla bricks, and front-facing stove inventory icons.
Clear Broth now has a clear, light color.
Tall hotpot tables, wooden sauce stations, and cutting boards are now flammable.
Fixes
Stoves, plates, and seats missing from 0.1.0-alpha.1 worlds can now be recognized again; old stools become benches.
Fixed middle-click copying of drinks and food on hotpot tables, and pots on stoves.
Selection outlines now surround only the targeted object when several share a block.
Item names and properties now appear when hovering in the hotpot and firebox screens.
0.1.1-alphaSince 0.1.1-alpha
Released on 2026-10-23.
New content
New bowl uses: vanilla bowls can hold food on tables, collect cooked food from pots, or serve soup. Clear Broth, Rich Stock, Mushroom Broth, and Spicy Red Broth have different effects.
Drinks: Orange Drink and Plant Protein Drink. Each bottle has four sips and can be placed on tables.
Campfire hotpot: pots cook on lit campfires and soul campfires at the same speed as stoves, without consuming fuel, and heal nearby players.
Small decorations such as lanterns, flower pots, candles, and cakes sit flush with hotpot tabletops.
Fixes
Fixed jittering when standing on plates on low tables, and stuttering ingredient bobbing in old worlds.
Notes
Several item / block IDs were aligned with English names, including brick_stove, oak_stool, and oak_bench. Items from this mod may disappear or change in worlds from 0.1.0-alpha.1. Back up first; a new world is recommended.
0.1.0-alpha.1Since 0.1.0-alpha.1
Released on 2026-10-22. First public version, including:
Short and tall stoves, copper and iron pots, four broths, fuel and heat rules, hotpot and firebox screens, and eating cooked food with chopsticks.
Healing around the pot: heated pots refresh Regeneration I within six blocks; eating from cold pots may cause Nausea.
Pack the whole pot: broth and food stay inside the pot item when picked up.
Low and tall hotpot tables, stools, and benches in 11 woods, with automatic connections and seating.
Plates: five materials × six sizes; multiple plates can share one block on a table.
Tripe: drops from cows and mooshrooms and cooks faster than beef.
Creative inventory categories and smaller category tabs on the left.
